Metabolism Booster: Cucumbers

This week I have began to pay closer attention to living better, I am all natural with my hair and I am deciding to carry that motto to my diet. I am taking small steps towards living a natural life. As I work on drinking 8, 8oz glasses of water everyday, I've  decided to jazz it up with adding cucumbers.

Flush out your system and boost your metabolism by sipping glasses of cucumber water. The natural diuretic effects of this vegetable containing potassium and Vitamins A and C flush out toxins and rev your metabolism. Add 6-8 slices of cucumber to a pitcher of water and refill your glass for a cool, refreshing drink.

Heres how you make it:

Ingredients You Will Need:

1 Gallon of Water
1/4 Large Cucumber in Thin Slices

Directions:

You can use an old milk gallon jug to do this- recycles and a great free water pitcher. Put in a large pot on the stove on high until it boils. Once boiling, remove water from heat. Let cool for about 10 minutes. You want the water to be warm, but not hot enough to cook the cucumber, as this will add a slight, bitter taste. While water is cooling slice the 1/4 large cucumber into really thin slices- the thinner the better. Once water is cool enough add the cucumber to water.
Let sit until water is almost room temperature. Pour water and cucumbers back into gallon jug. The water will not completely fill the jug, so add water until it does. Let refrigerate over night. Now enjoy your amazingly fresh water! (Note- this is also fantastic for mint water- just add 1 long stem of mint with the leaves still on- so refreshing and rejuvenating!)

Enjoy
